Turn Garden Waste Into Rich Earth
There's never any need to waste fallen leaves or even vegetable
peelings from the kitchen. Composting
is perfect for turning waste into nutrient-rich earth that can
transform your vegetable or flower garden into something amazing.
Therefore, a garden composter
is a must-have item for any green-minded gardener.
A composter
can be as simple as a galvanized compost pail or as high-tech as the Ecomposter
ball. At Outdora we only carry the best garden composters so you can be
sure that whatever you choose will do its job to perfection –
for years. Pick your composter based on how much room you
have for storage and how much yard waste you'll generate. (To give you
an idea, some of our composters will hold up to 160 cubic feet!)
Garden
Composters at their Simplest Level: Buckets, Bins and Caddies
The simplest and most affordable composters are sturdy
buckets with tight-fitting lids to keep out odors. Outdora stocks a
number of compost buckets and compost caddies. Some come with
odor-stopping filters. You can use the buckets to move waste from one
area (like a kitchen) to a larger container, or, if you have only a
small apartment, you can use the finished compost to enrich some
beautiful window boxes.
Larger composters
will often take the form of a large plastic bin. Examples include Wibo
garden composters and the Gourmet Garden composter. Both come in
tasteful dark colors to capture heat, and feature easy-access hatches
to extract the compost once it's ready.
Feelgood garden composters
also have this same classic design, storing up to 170 cubic feet of
material. The Earthmaker
composter is a higher-end model
with superior aeration and design to help keep out annoying flies.
High-Tech
Garden Composters Rotate Material for Quicker Composting
Another style would be the Sun-Mar garden composter. This drum-based
model automates the process; you turn the composter to distribute
materials, and compost falls into a separate compartment that can be
quickly retrieved. This leaves no guesswork about when the compost is
ready.
Also based on rotation, the Ecomposter
models are in a class of their own with their unusual spherical design.
They do the trick, too, delivering perfect compost in as little as four
to six weeks. The Ecomposter can also be mounted on a spider basin to
keep it off the ground.
Whetever you choose, with Outdora's models you can be sure of one
thing: You'll have great compost, you'll be helping the Earth, and your
garden will never look more beautiful!
