The
classic Weber
grill, born in 1952, is
responsible for igniting the backyard barbecuing revolution as we know
it today and still remains an American icon. Created by a Chicago
inventor with a passion for barbecuing, the early Weber featured
several elements new to the outdoor grill—most notably, a
lid. With this new feature, outdoor elements were kept at bay, flame
and ash were tamed, and barbecue cooking took on all sorts of new
techniques and flavors.
Today, those who hear the Weber name and still conjure up the original
Weber kettle barbecue are in for a big surprise. The first Weber grill
has evolved into a full line of charcoal grills, gas grills, and
smokers ranging from small portable charcoal grills to large
professional style freestanding gas grills and built in grills fueled
by gas or liquid propane. With a Weber
grill, you’re getting
a solid, American made grill manufactured with a strong dedication to
innovative design and durability—a grill that remains a
favorite not only in the U.S. but throughout the world.
